Q: What is the difference between knife gate valve and ordinary wedge gate valve?
A: Knife gate valve has a thin blade-style gate, specially designed for slurry, sludge and solid-containing medium. It can cut through fibrous solids. Standard wedge gate valves are mainly for clean water and gas, and are easy to get stuck with solids.
Q: Can this manual knife gate valve be refitted with electric or pneumatic actuator later?
A: Yes. Our valve body is designed with standard actuator mounting interface. You can replace the handwheel assembly with electric actuator or pneumatic cylinder on site when automatic control is needed.
Q: What seat material should I choose for mine tailings slurry?
A: For abrasive mine tailings, we recommend hard metal seat or reinforced PTFE seat. EPDM rubber seats are more suitable for clean sewage and low-abrasion wastewater.
Q: Does this knife gate valve seal in both directions?
