Conventional drainage grates often use equally spaced parallel designs, which can lead to the accumulation of leaves and debris on the grate surface during heavy rainfall. However, the zero-clogging municipal grate widens the spacing between the flat steel bars to 40-50mm and installs them at a 15° incline. This inclined angle utilizes the force of the rainwater to wash leaves, branches, and other debris down the slope to the roadside drain, preventing them from getting stuck in the grate gaps. The wider spacing reduces water flow resistance, allowing rainwater to quickly seep into the drainage ditch, increasing drainage capacity by more than 30% per unit of time. After a municipal road renovation, grates with this design showed no significant water accumulation on the road surface during a heavy rain red alert, and the drainage speed was nearly twice as fast as traditional grates.
Bottom Guide Ribs + Anti-Silt Grooves, Eliminating Internal Blockages
Drainage ditch blockages don't only occur on the surface of the drainage grate; internal silt accumulation is also a potential problem. The zero-clogging steel grate adds 3-5 longitudinal guide ribs at the bottom, with a height of 5mm. These guide ribs direct the rainwater to form a directional flow within the ditch, preventing sediment from accumulating at the bottom. At the same time, a 20mm deep anti-silt groove is designed at the connection between the grate and the ditch wall. This groove intercepts large particles of sediment and stones, preventing them from blocking the drainage pipes. In a city sidewalk drainage ditch renovation, traditional grates without guide ribs accumulated 80mm of sediment at the bottom after one year of use, while grates with guide ribs only accumulated 10mm. The cleaning cycle was extended from 3 months to 1 year, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
Edge Anti-Jump Design + Removable Frame, Facilitating Debris Cleaning
After heavy rain, debris can easily accumulate at the edges of the grate, and if not cleaned promptly, it will affect future drainage. The clogged municipal grates are fitted with 5mm high anti-clogging edges, which can block lightweight debris such as fallen leaves and plastic bags, preventing them from being blown away by the wind or getting stuck in the gaps of the drain walls. At the same time, a removable frame structure is used, allowing workers to quickly remove the grates for thorough cleaning when debris accumulates on the surface or bottom, without damaging the road surface. A municipal maintenance team reported that cleaning traditional fixed grates takes 2 hours, while cleaning the removable grates only takes 30 minutes, significantly improving maintenance efficiency.
