Product Overview

This SND high pressure angle blowdown globe valve is purpose-built for severe high differential pressure blowdown and throttling duties. The 90° angular flow layout changes the fluid path sharply, diverting high-speed media away from the sealing faces and reducing direct impact erosion. Its monoblock forged square body with pressure-sealed bonnet delivers robust structural integrity under extreme pressure and thermal cycling.
Unlike standard globe valves that quickly suffer cavitation, flashing and seat erosion during continuous blowdown, this blowdown valve adopts multi-stage stacked throttling trim. The medium dissipates pressure step by step across cascaded orifices, which suppress cavitation noise, vibration and material washout. It is widely deployed on boiler steam drum continuous blowdown lines, power plant BOP circuits, high-pressure water drainage and heavy process fluid discharge pipelines.
Equipped with a heavy-duty manual handwheel for precise stroke adjustment, operators can fine-tune blowdown flow rate to maintain boiler water quality. Hard-faced sealing components extend service cycles even with dirty, saturated water media carrying trace solid particles. SND can customize trim geometry, body alloy and end connection forms to match exact pressure drop and media characteristics of your process.
Core Design & Key Advantages
Multi-stage Anti-cavitation Throttling Trim
Gradual staged pressure reduction mitigates cavitation and flashing damage. Lowers vibration and noise during continuous blowdown, protects valve internals and downstream piping from rapid erosion.
01
Forged Integral Angle Body Structure
Solid forged block construction eliminates casting porosity risk. The right-angle flow path redirects jet flow, so the highest velocity stream does not strike directly on the seat and disc sealing surfaces.
02
Pressure Seal Bonnet for Ultra-high Pressure Service
Self-tightening pressure seal bonnet gains tighter sealing as line pressure rises, far more reliable than bolted bonnets under sustained high pressure and temperature.
03
Stellite Hardfaced Sealing Surfaces
Stellite overlay on disc and seat provides excellent wear, abrasion and corrosion resistance against saturated boiler water, dissolved salts and fine impurity particles. Stable shut-off performance after long throttling hours.

FAQ
FAQ
Q: What is the main difference between this angle blowdown valve and a normal globe valve?
A: It comes with multi-stage anti-cavitation throttling trim and an angle flow path. Ordinary globe valves lack staged pressure reduction and will fail quickly from cavitation and erosion under large pressure drop blowdown service.
Q: Can this valve be used for intermittent blowdown instead of continuous blowdown?
A: Yes. It works for both continuous modulated blowdown and periodic on-off intermittent blowdown. For fully open-close quick intermittent blowdown, we can adjust the trim design accordingly.
Q: What trim material do you recommend for boiler water with high chloride content?
A: We suggest F316 body + Stellite hardfaced trim. For extreme chloride corrosion, superalloy trim alternatives are available upon request.
Q: Can SND supply actuated versions (electric / pneumatic) of this blowdown valve?
A: Yes. The valve top can be redesigned with ISO 5211 mounting flange to fit electric or pneumatic actuators for remote automatic blowdown control.
Q: What end connection types are most common for power station blowdown service?
A: Butt weld ends are the dominant choice for high-pressure boiler blowdown pipelines for superior joint strength and zero leakage risk. Socket weld and flange ends are optional for lower pressure classes.
